And that’s why I love Rookie Blue

As Jerry has died and the team has to face the day after the funeral, I feel like most shows just do individual shots of how everyone on the team moves on alone. But not Rookie Blue. Everyone comes together and supports Traci and Gail and Sammy and Oliver…they’re a family. And one of the main reasons I watch Rookie Blue is because it makes you feel like you’re part of the family too. You were there when Jerry gave Traci the knife and she was disappointed that it wasn’t something more feminine and you were there when Andy told Sam she loved him and he didn’t say it back and when Gail was abducted and when she was rescued and when Dove was dating Sue and when Andy and Sam had a flour fight and Andy met her mom again and Noelle had her baby and when Andy arrested Sam the first time they met and you were there when Traci figured out that the knife was Jerry’s proposal and she smiled so wide it nearly broke the tv screen. I love shows that make you feel like you’re part of their family. And I sure as hell am going to miss Detective Jerry Barber-he was a great character and added so much to the show, I toast a scotch in his honor.
